Remembering Terry Holmstrom

Terrance Alan Holmstrom, age 62, of Olympia, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Terry was born on September 29, 1948 in Olympia,WA to Julia Anntoinette Kaszycki and Gunar Ivan Holmstrom. Click here for photo library and video.Terry is preceded in death by his father, Gunar Ivan Holmstrom, in 1957. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Stephanie, his four wonderful children Tod (Jamie) Holmstrom of Satsop, WA; Melissa (Jayson) Olson, of Ferndale, WA; Chandra Holmstrom of Olympia and Robert (Allison) Holmstrom of Olympia. He is also survived by his beautiful mother, Julia Holmstrom and sisters Carol (Bill) Emmons and Pamela (Dave) Kosonen all of Olympia. Terry has seven amazing grandchildren: Andrew (16); Julia (13); Gage (12); Nathan (10); Dayton (8); Jack (5); and Madison (4).

Terry graduated from Tumwater High School in 1966 and attended Clover Park Technical College. Terry began his business career at Firestone where he worked as credit manager. He then followed his dream and began his own business, Terry’s Automotive, Inc., in 1976 starting out at the old Maxwell station on Legion Way, then moving to the

Texaco service station across from the State Capitol and finally relocating his business to the west side of Olympia. Terry proudly taught his two sons, Tod and Robert, about the automotive repair business and they will continue to run business that Terry worked so hard to build.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church, 333 Kaiser Road, Olympia, WA. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be sent in Terry’s name to UWMC Transplant Services c/o Suzy Duff, 1959 NE Pacific St., Box 356175, Seattle, WA 98195-6390.
