Kevin Marks grew up in California, going to high school in Grass Valley, then starting college at College of San Mateo, before transferring to the University of Washington where he was a track and field athlete.
Kevin has been around our industry since his early 20’s. He began working for Interstate Batteries is the Seattle area as a hotshot driver, and was then promoted to route sales. He left Interstate for a period of time to pursue his own business on a Matco tool truck. The tool business, as it turned out, was not immune to the impact of the recession. Even as he was faced with a challenging situation, he maintained a positive outlook and kept a smile on his face. Kevin then decided to shift gears, and returned to Interstate Batteries in 2010 as their Route Sales Manager, overseeing their battery sales force. He dove in head first to become a great leader not just at work, but also in his home life.
He’s married to his wife Mona and have three children: sons Bronson and Jaron, and daughter Natasha.
Kevin is a very active supporter of Northwest Auto Care Alliance, currently serving on the board of directors as your Regional Allied Chairman. Last year he was the catalyst behind the formation of the Sno-King North Chapter and he’s graciously provided the meeting location at the All Battery facility in South Everett. Under his leadership, the chapter has been gaining momentum, and is clearly helping to foster participation from members in that area who otherwise would find it difficult to attend chapter meetings further south. Kevin gets what belonging to ASA can mean to a shop, and beats the drum at any opportunity to help a shop owner or another vendor.
Kevin is the driving force behind the ASA Sno-King Kids First, and has been the primary fund raiser over the last 4 or 5 years helping his team raise over $15,000. The chapter used these funds to help over 200 kids enjoy the meaning of Christmas.
